I may only have a few months to live

I may only have a few months left to live.

(I should just let that line sit there for a while and see how long it takes for my phone to start ringing…. nope…, it’s not ringing)

I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday. She’s been running her own firm for over 20 years, long enough to see her business ebb and flow through a multitude of economic tides. She asked me how things were going for me. I said, “I’m good for a few months, but I have no idea what happens after that”.

“Yeah, that don’t go away” she said.

And, she didn’t even skip a beat.

I “started” my company 18 months ago. And, thinking back on it… It’s been a series of a few month long  phases of “I’m good for a few months” followed by another few months of “I’m good for a few months”. I keep thinking that after this next few months things will start to even out and the next few months will be good. Or, maybe the length of the “few months of good” phases will get a little longer. Maybe even stretch out into a “few years of good” worth of time-frame. Or at least, eventually, things will get easier and less nerve racking. Right?

 “Yeah, that don’t go away”

Right

In a business sense, I may only have a few months left to live.

I guess I should start working on my bucket list & start living like I’m dying.

Anyone know where I can get a hang-glider and some baby oil?
